As the body opens, exert force with your head toward the head direction and push forcefully with your arms toward the legs; then quickly swing them upward above your head (abdominal bounce). Leg opening is completed using a kicking motion.

1. Standing with hands on hips and jumping: Keep your body upright, gaze downward and forward (about 2 meters in front of you), and keep your neck straight. During the jump, try not to rely on your knee joints for power; when landing, keep your feet slightly apart (about the width of one foot). As you leap off the ground, quickly bring your feet together.

In-place arm-clamp jump: Keep both arms tightly pressed against the sides of your body; all other requirements remain the same.

Standing Arm-Swing Jump: When raising both hands overhead, keep your shoulders relaxed and open; align your arms and body in a straight line. Then, forcefully bring your arms together toward the center. All other requirements are the same as those for the standing waist-crossing jump.

2. Arm swings in place: The teaching method begins by demonstrating arm circles—starting with small circles, then moving to larger circles, and finally progressing to standardized, proper arm-swinging motions.

Teaching sequence for the ground jump with a 1/4 turn abdominal (back) bounce:

3. On the sponge mat, start by lying down from a standing upright position, then practice jumping up into a straight-body 1/4-turn abdominal (or back) bounce—jumping up into a tuck position for a 1/4-turn abdominal (or back) bounce—then jumping up into a bent-body 1/4-turn abdominal (or back) bounce.

4. Precautions: When performing the 1/4-turn abdominal (or back) tuck, be sure to emphasize—when taking off—that you first execute the upright-arm movement before proceeding with the tuck. Stress that the tuck should be completed as quickly as possible, and use a kicking motion to spread your legs open. The arm movement should begin with the upright-arm position; after jumping, rapidly and actively bring both arms together above your head, bend them downward toward your thighs, and simultaneously quickly lift your knees to assume the tuck position. As you extend your body, forcefully push your head upward toward your head, and use your arms to push firmly toward your legs. Then quickly swing your arms overhead (for the abdominal bounce), and complete the leg spread using a kicking motion.
