Safety Requirements for Trampoline Competitions

1. At a prominent location in the trampoline practice or competition venue, there shall be the latest Chinese-English version of the “Notes for Practitioners and Competitors” issued by the China Trampoline & Tumbling Sports Association, as well as safety warning signs or instructions. The notes must explicitly state the safety requirements for online practice.

2. When using an open-style trampoline, a hand-held protective mat should be provided for use by instructional and technical staff to offer immediate protection. The sponge layer inside the hand-held protective mat shall have a thickness of no less than 8 centimeters, and its dimensions shall be 1.5 to 1.6 meters in length and 1 to 1.1 meters in width.

3. There should be a sound system for inspecting the safety of facilities and equipment. Damaged components and facilities—including springs, mesh surfaces, frames, protective pads, and safety nets—should be replaced promptly to ensure the safety of the equipment.

4. There should be necessary first-aid medications and equipment, as well as relevant measures for emergency response in case of accidents.

Equipment and medications include: one stretcher (a specialized stretcher designed to stabilize neck and spinal injuries), one portable AED defibrillator, one cervical collar, one sphygmomanometer, one oxygen bag, one first-aid kit for on-site emergency treatment, two towels, two bath towels, ice packs, as well as trauma care supplies, pain relief medications, cardiac emergency equipment, and emergency intravenous infusion devices and medications.

5. There should be a sound system of job responsibilities for security and guard duties, fire safety, equipment maintenance, and staff services. Security personnel should be equipped with walkie-talkies.

6. There should be a procurement system for equipment, and a dedicated person should be responsible for inspecting and accepting the equipment, as well as verifying its performance and technical specifications.

During training or competitions, the trampoline training or competition venue(s) will be under full-time video surveillance and recording. In addition, a safety officer will be assigned to the monitoring room as a surveillance observer, maintaining seamless communication with the safety officers stationed at the venue(s), and supervising and assisting their work.
